As we prepared The Golden Bear for departure from sunny San Diego’s Cruise Terminals, on Thursday, August 27th, the deck students were busy with various activities above the deck, while the engineering students were below making sure all systems were ready to go! The bridge crew was standing by, as the tug boats were positioned at the rear of the ship (aft) and starboard side to pull us safely away from the dock.
We departed San Diego at 10:24 a.m. We’re headed home to CMA – Vallejo, California - our final destination and we’re scheduled to arrive on Saturday, August 29th.
For those of you who will be in the San Francisco area, on Saturday, August 29th, we will be passing under the Golden Gate Bridge approximately 11:45 a.m., but to be sure get there by 11:30 a.m. We should arrive at the CMA dock approximately 1500 (3:00 p.m.) and should be secured by 1600 (4:00 p.m.). Faculty and staff not on watch or assigned duty (i.e. galley gang) will have liberty. Cadets with 4 bars and up, may have liberty and must return at their normal expiration of liberty time. All other cadets will remain aboard until after formation at 10:00 a.m., Sunday August 30, 2009.
