Satellite Communications Restored

Satellite Communications aboard the TSGB have been Restored. The phones are now operable. All incoming and outgoing email messages previously sent during the outage will be received. Updates to Follow the Voyage will also resume.

Students and faculty onboard The Training Ship Golden Bear may be unable to communicate via email and phone for part or most of the remainder of the cruise. The problem was reported to IT on campus around 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
The ship's current heading places the ship's mast between the
satellite and the ship's antennae. IT support staff onboard the ship

Satellite Connection Currently Down

The satellite connection to the TSGB is currently down. As a result, those on the ship cannot send or receive emails or phone calls at this time.
The IT department aboard the ship is working to resolve this issue. As soon as connectivity is restored, updates to FTV will resume and a status update will be posted.
